TREMEC-EQUIPPED CADILLAC ATS DEBUTS AT NIAS
Plymouth, Michigan- The story of Cadillac's tremendously successful "Art & Science" design language continues to unfold with the addition of the all-new 2013 ATS compact luxury sport sedan. And once again TREMEC is there with its contribution to the true driving enthusiast in the form of a slick new 6-speed manual transmission--the TR-3160. Slated to back GM's new 270-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder engine, the TR-3160 represents the very best that the shift-it-yourself transmission industry has to offer. As content-rich as any manual transmission could be, the gearbox comes complete with all the bells and whistles necessary to help Cadillac go toe-to-toe with current segment leaders like the BMW 3-series and Audi A4. Triple cone hybrid synchronizers offer lighting quick gear changes with fluid-like engagement. The act of shifting itself is greatly enhanced by a sophisticated rail mechanism that promotes precise, swift throws and a positive shift feel. Much like power-density is the name of the game in today's eco-aware engine development, the TR-3160 is extremely potent in that it is remarkably light and compact, yet robust enough to extract the most from the ATS' athletic demeanor. As stated by TREMEC's own OE Sales Manager, Dave Hadley, "The (TR) 3160 is likely to emerge as one of the greatest manual transmissions ever produced for the passenger car segment. It's an awesome piece of hardware and we're pleased to see it finally break ground in such an exciting application."

TREMEC® RELEASES AFTERMARKET 6-SPEED TRANSMISSION FOR LATE-MODEL PERFORMANCE APPLICATIONS
Plymouth, Michigan- The TREMEC® aftermarket performance group has released an all-new 6-speed manual transmission aimed at late-model performance applications with factory 'semi-remote' shifters. The extended length T-56 MagnumTM 6-Speed, or "Magnum XL", is a welcome addition to the current Magnum product line; since up until now, many late-model performance enthusiasts were without a viable transmission option to meet their extreme performance needs.
Unlike other Magnum models that present a host of flexibility features for early-model and custom hot rod applications, the Magnum XL is intended to be more of a 'direct-swap' for late-model vehicles with semi-remote shifter mechanisms that are often seen as undesirable for performance driving. Thanks to a special lengthened tail section, users will instead have a rigidly mounted 'direct-shift' arrangement that is far more precise for instances when missing a gear is simply not an option. Additionally, Magnum users will benefit from a host of race-proven upgrades over most factory units that will address both safety and torque capacity issues for truly performance-oriented vehicles.
Beginning with the most widespread application, 2005-up Ford Mustangs, the new Magnum will feature a swap-specific transmission crossmember and mount, as well as a 'blow-proof' bellhousing that is approved for race use amongst most sanctioned racing organizations. An industry-leading 700 lb-ft. of torque capacity ensures that the Magnum is ready to support the most robust high-performance engines while remaining civil enough for everyday use. Special models for the 2009-up Chevrolet Camaro and 2008-up Dodge Challengers are also under development with releases expected within the coming year.
