Following an extensive on-site audit, proof has been furnished that the requirements of ISO/TS 16949:2009 are met. The audit was performed by TÜV Rheinland for TREMEC’s hi-tech manufacturing facility in Querétaro, Mexico, covering the design and manufacturing of transmission systems. TREMEC’s Pedro Escobedo facility is also ISO/TS 16949 certified – assuring customers consistent quality and expertise.
“TREMEC prides itself in being a full-service and vertically integrated supplier of torque transfer solutions to the automotive market,” commented Antonio Herrera, TREMEC Managing Director. “The inspection by TUV showed that our management and control systems are ideally suited to provide our customers with products and services of the highest level, to manage eventual issues that may come up, and to guarantee a commitment to continuing improvement on quality levels in the future.”
ISO/TS 16949 is the primary standard for the automotive industry throughout the world. It is a technical specification aimed at the development of a quality management system that provides for continual improvement, emphasizing defect prevention and the reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain. It is based on the ISO 9001 standard, and was prepared by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) and the Technical Committee of ISO. The Querétaro and Pedro Escobedo facilities have been ISO/TS 16949 certified since 2006.
